How to run a 3 hour timer
This 3 hour timer counts down from 3:00:00 (180 minutes) and plays an alarm when it reaches zero. Once started, it shows the clock time it will finish, so you can plan the rest of your day.
- Press Start.
- Note the end time shown on screen.
- Keep the tab open. You can switch to other tabs; the time left appears in the tab title.
Long sessions this fits
Full practice exams. Some standardized tests and final exams run close to three hours. Practicing under a single long countdown builds stamina. The exam timer has a 180 minute preset with warnings at 30, 10 and 5 minutes left and shows start and finish times.
"Study with me" sessions. A 3 hour study block works best when broken up. Six Pomodoros of 25 minutes plus a 5 minute break each add up to exactly 180 minutes. Run them on the Pomodoro timer and use this page as the overall deadline.
Everyday reminders. Move the car before a parking limit runs out, check on a long cooking project, or end a gaming or screen-time session.
Things to know for long timers
- The countdown is measured against your system clock, so it stays accurate for hours.
- The alarm only sounds while the page is open. Don't close the tab or let your laptop sleep.
- On phones, keeping the screen awake depends on the browser. Plugging in your phone helps on long runs.
