Start the 2 minute timer

Press Start and the 2 minute timer runs from 2:00 down to zero, then plays an alarm. One press of Start is all it takes, and it works on the phone propped up on your bathroom counter just as well as on a laptop.

The classic use: brushing teeth

Dentists commonly recommend brushing for two minutes, twice a day. Most people stop well short of that without a timer. For kids, open this page on a tablet, press F for full screen, and let them brush until the circle runs out. Try a fun alarm such as Magic or Success so the end feels like a reward.

Other two-minute jobs

  • The two-minute rule. A well-known productivity tip says that if a task takes less than two minutes, do it now. Use the timer to keep yourself honest.
  • Amateur boxing-style rounds. Two-minute rounds are common in amateur formats. For rounds and rest periods with a bell, use the boxing timer.
  • Speeches and turns. Give each student or team member two minutes to share, then reset with R for the next person.

How to use it

  1. Press Start or Space.
  2. Pick a sound and make sure mute is off.
  3. Press R to restart at 2:00.

FAQ

Is there a 2 minute timer with music? No background music plays, just an alarm at the end. Your child can listen to a favorite song in another app while the countdown runs.

Can I use it with the phone screen off? The page asks the browser to keep the screen awake while it runs. Leave the page open so the alarm can play.
