Set a 12 minute timer

From 12:00 to zero, then an alarm: the 12 minute timer is preset and ready. One press of Start and you're timing; the page also shows the clock time when the 12 minutes end.

The 12-minute run test

The Cooper test, developed by Dr. Kenneth Cooper in the 1960s, is a classic fitness test: run as far as you can in 12 minutes, then measure the distance. It's still used in PE classes and fitness programs. Start the timer, run, and stop where you are when the alarm sounds. Choose a loud sound such as Emergency or Hailing if your phone will be in a pocket, and keep the page open the whole time.

Other 12-minute jobs

Basketball practice. NBA quarters are 12 minutes of game clock. A straight 12-minute countdown is handy for a scrimmage period, though real game clocks stop on fouls and timeouts.

Recipes and kitchen tasks. Some recipes call for 12 minutes – check yours and start the timer when the food goes in.

Short focus blocks. Twelve minutes is a gentle start for someone who finds 25-minute Pomodoro sessions too long.

FAQ

Can I see the 12 minute timer from across the gym? Press F for full screen. For an even bigger display, the classroom timer shows very large digits and a progress bar.

Does it need an internet connection the whole time? The countdown runs in your open browser tab and is measured against your device clock; just don't close the page before it rings.
