How to use the 1 minute timer

Sixty seconds, one button: press Start on the 1 minute timer (a 60 second countdown), watch the circle empty, and hear the alarm at 0:00. It is free, needs no sign-up and runs in any browser.

  1. Press Start or the Space bar.
  2. When it rings, press R and Space to run another minute right away.
  3. Use Set Time if you need 45 seconds or 90 seconds instead.

What fits in one minute

  • Timed math facts. One-minute drills are a classroom staple: how many problems can you finish before the alarm?
  • Plank and wall-sit holds. Sixty seconds is a common goal for a plank. Start with the 30 second timer and work up.
  • Speed games. Name as many words, animals or states as you can in a minute. The tension of the last few seconds is half the fun.
  • Elevator pitches and quick introductions. Practice saying who you are and what you do in under a minute.
  • Breathing resets. One minute of slow breathing between meetings.

Want more drama?

For games and classroom challenges, the bomb timer has a 1 minute preset with a burning fuse and faster beeps in the last 10 seconds.

FAQ

Is this the same as a 60 second timer? Yes. One minute and 60 seconds are the same countdown.

Why didn't the alarm play on my iPhone? Safari usually needs one tap on the page before it allows sound. Tap anywhere, then press Start, and check that mute is off.
