How to start a 10 second timer
This 10 second timer counts down from 10 to zero and plays an alarm. Press Start or tap the Space bar and it begins right away.
What people use a 10 second timer for
- Speed games. "Name five fruits in 10 seconds," quick-draw rounds, and party challenges.
- Countdowns. A dramatic 10-to-zero lead-in for a reveal, a toast or a game start. Go full screen with F so everyone can watch.
- Short holds. A brief stretch, a balance hold on one foot, or a breath hold in a breathing exercise.
- Classroom transitions. A short warning before a switch: "You have 10 seconds to sit down."
Tips for very short timers
With only 10 seconds, there's no time to fumble. Set your sound before you start, then use the keyboard: Space to start, R to reset for the next round.
On iPhone and iPad, sounds may need one tap on the page first. Tap anywhere once before your game so the first alarm isn't silent.
For more suspense, the bomb timer has a 10 second preset with a burning fuse and faster beeps at the end. For repeated rounds, an interval timer runs work and rest cycles automatically.
Questions people ask
Can I repeat the 10 seconds over and over?
Press R to reset and Space to start again. For automatic repeats, use the interval timer instead.
Can I time 10 seconds without sound?
Yes. Use the mute toggle and the circle still counts down visually.
