Using the 11 minute timer

This 11 minute timer counts down from 11:00 and rings at zero. Press Start, check the end time on screen, and get on with your task.

Why 11 minutes?

Eleven minutes usually shows up when a round 10 isn't quite enough:

  • Pasta. Many dried pasta shapes cook in roughly 10 to 12 minutes. Check the box and set the exact time it gives.
  • Running. At an 11-minute-mile pace, this timer covers about one mile, handy for an out-and-back route.
  • A short focus sprint. Ten minutes of work plus one minute to set up, or a timed quiz with a tiny buffer.
  • Kids' screen time or turns. A clear, visible limit that no one can argue with.

Step by step

  1. Press Start or the Space bar.
  2. Choose an alarm sound, or use the mute toggle for a silent countdown.
  3. Press F for full screen if others need to see it.
  4. Press R to reset when you're done.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pause the 11 minute timer?

Yes. Press Pause (or Space) and press it again to resume from where you stopped.

Does it keep my sound choice?

Yes. Your sound choice is remembered on this device, with no account needed.

Why didn't the alarm play on my iPhone?

iOS sometimes needs one tap on the page before it allows sound. Tap Start yourself rather than relying on autoplay, and keep the page open.
